Born Hull, 4 Jun 1886.  Baptism, 23 Jun 1886 St John's, Hull. He was a professional soldier serving in the 10th Hussars, Cavalry (1911 Census).

Married on 8th January 1919. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Bechell, of 4, Napier Terrace, Norfolk Street, Hull (War Pension Address). They had a daughter, Ellen and one son, Francis Bernard.

Served as Trooper, 18th (Queen Mary's Own Royal) Hussars and 17th Lancers (5th Reserve Cavalry). Discharged on 10/3/19. Died on 30/04/1922, aged 35. Awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal
