BORN HESSLE 1868. WIFE MRS BEACH ABOVE ADDRESS. CHIEF ENGINEER OF TRAWLERS. DROWNED ON 15.11/1915, AGED 47. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES ON 11/12/1915 AND THE HDM 18/11/1919.
Built as the EDWARD B. CARGILL for Cargill Steam Trawling Co Ltd, Hull; Yard No 206; Date of completion: 23/08/1898; 10 knots; In Jan 1914, tonnage adjusted to 73.7 net tons.
On the 15/11/1915 the Hull steam trawler EDWARD B. CARGILL (H.412) foundered and was lost after detonating a mine off Spurn Point, North Sea.
