HE ENLISTED IN THE NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS, IN YORK. PROMOTED TO CORPORAL. DIED ON 27/05/1918, AGED 22. COMMEMORATED ON THE SOISSONS MEMORIAL. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, SUSANNAH LEGGETT.

HE LEFT THREE SISTERS, ALICE, ETHEL AND LOUISE.
