ELDEST SON OF GEORGE ABEL (1872-1938) & MARY ELLEN SNEE (1873-1952), OF 4, SPRINGFIELD VILLAS, MORLEY STRETT, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 8, JOHNSON'S BUILDINGS, TREVOR STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). ELDEST SON OF A CARRIER. HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED IN THE 2ND/7TH MANCHESTER REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 01/08/1917, IN NIEUPORT, BELGIUM. AGED 19.
HE WAS UNMARRIED AND HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, MARY ELLEN.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON ST CHARLES BORROMEO CHURCH MEMORIAL, JARRATT STREET, HULL.
