BORN HULL 1884. ONLY SON OF ROBERT WILLIAM ALCOCK & THE LATE ALICE ALCOCK, OF THE ABOVE ADDRESS. SON OF A WELL KNOWN BOILER MAKER, ON HESSLE ROAD. HE HAD TWO SISTERS EMILY & ALICE. HIS GRANDPARENTS MR & MRS FLEMMING, LIVED AT 14 BREAMAR TERRACE, WALCOTT STREET, HULL. HE WAS WELL KNOWN ON HESSLE ROAD. WORKED AS A LABOURER, FOR MESSERS CD HOLMES & CO, ON HESSLE ROAD AND FOR THE NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS. HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS ON 28/09/1914. SERVED IN EGYPT. ARRIVED FRANCE ON 08/03/1916. KILLED IN ACTION 13/11/1916, AGED 32. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, EMILY LAMAN. HE IS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 16/12/1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE ST. MATHEWS CHURCH, BOULEVARD ROLL OF HONOUR. HE IS BURIED AT EUSTON ROAD CEMETERY, COLINCAMPS, FRANCE.
