BORN BRIDLINGTON 1879. SON OF EDWARD GREENLEY (1853-1919) AND JESSIE MULLHOLLAND (1854-1893), OF HULL. HE LIVED IN HULL AND CHESHAM, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE. ENLISTED BEVERLEY. LISTED ON THE OLD HULL TOWN ROLL OF HONOUR. SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 21 YEARS. WAS COMPANY SERGEANT MAJOR, OF THE 13TH KINGS ROYAL RIFLE CORPS. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 30/07/1915. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 05/08/1916. RECOMMENDED FOR THE DCM. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, EDITH M GREENLEY. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 04/09/1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
