2/7th and 2/8th Battalion Territorial Force
Aug 1914 The 2/7th formed in Salford then moved to Mossborough and the 2/8th formed at Mossborough and then both moved to Southport as part of the 197th Brigade of the 66th Division.
May 1915 Moved to Crowborough and then Tunbridge Wells.
Mar 1916 Moved to Hyderabad Barracks at Colchester
28.02.1917 Mobilised for war and landed at Havre and the Division engaged in various action on the Western front including;
During 1917
The Battle of Pilkem Ridge, The Battle of Menin Road Ridge.
April 1918 reduced to training cadre.
30.06.1918 The 2/7th returned to England and transferred to the 74th Brigade of the 25th division and moved to Aldershot.
31.07.1918 The 2/8th disbanded in France.
09.07.1918 Disbanded and formed the 24th Battalion.
