Born Newbald, Yorkshire 1894. Son of James Savoury, of Newbald. Worked as a Cow Boy On Farm, at Castle Farm Houghton Sancton, Newbald (1911 Census) Enlisted in Hull. Served with the Royal Field Artillery, "D" Bty. 282nd (London) Bde. Died of wounds, on 25/05/1916, aged 21. His army effects went to his disabled father, James and sister, Emma.
