Beadle, Harry

BORN HULL 04/08/1889. SON OF HENRY BEADLE (1861-1942) & ANNIE BEADLE, OF 26, EDWARDS PLACE, BUCKINGHAM STREET, HULL (CWGC, NAVAL & WAR PENSION ADDRESS. HE SERVED FOR SIX YEARS IN THE ROYAL NAVY AND WAS ON THE RESERVE LIST WHEN WAR WAS DECLARED. A STOKER FIRST CLASS. HE TOOK PART IN THE NAVAL ENGAGEMENT OFF HARTLEPOOL AND HAD LOST ALL HIS CLOTHES AND PART OF HIS BELONGINGS. HE HAD JUST RETURNED FROM LEAVE AND JOINED HIS TORPEDO BOAT HMS ‘BROKE’ FOR THREE WEEKS BEFORE HE WAS KILLED AT THE BATTLE OF JUTLAND, ON 31/05/1916, AGED 26. HE WAS BURIED AT SEA. COMMEMORATED ON THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 9TH JUNE 1916. *
UNMARRIED. HE LEFT BROTHER WALTER BEADLE (1890-1964). HE LEFT £147 IN HIS WILL TO ISSAC BOND, A MARKET GARDENER AND SARAH PARKIN (WIFE OF ARNOLD PARKIN)
