JOINED THE ARMY ON 13/07/1905. SERVED AT HOME BETWEEN 1905-1907, INDIA FROM 1907-1913, AND RETURNED TO ENGLAND IN DECEMBER 1913 TO JOIN THE SPECIAL RESERVE. HE WAS MOBILIZED ON 04/08/1914. ARRIVED IN THE FRONT LINE ON 07/09/1914. KILLED AT LA COURRONNE, ON 16/10/1914, WHILE RESCUING WOUNDED. HE WAS AGED 26. UNMARRIED. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL AND RECORDED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 1, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
