BORN HULL 1896. ONLY CHILD OF EMILY KATE BOOTH (1870-1965) & THE LATE JOHN BOOTH AT 4, THE AVENUE CRESCENT, PARK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS). HE WORKED AS A GROCER’S ASSISTANT AND LORRY DRIVER.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 06/11/1915, AGED 19 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 04/11/1916. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE BATTALION. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 19/02/1917, AGED 21. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 1 YEAR AND 97 DAYS. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 12/03/1917. HIS NAME IS ALSO RECORDED ON HULL’S, HYMER COLLEGE MEMORIAL.
