BORN HULL 1895. SON OF LAWRENCE & MARY EMILY – 3 DE LA POLE AVENUE, BALFOUR STREET. SINGLE MAN. WORKED AS A FITTER. ENLISTED HULL. DIED OF WOUNDS 03/11/1914, AGED 19. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER AMELIA OUNSWORTH. HE WAS THE BROTHER OF LT. FRED BOYLE, RNR, WHO DROWNED 05/03/1917. DEATH REPORTED IN THE HDM 12/03/1917 & HULL TIMES 05/12/1914.

HE IS BURIED AT CITE BONJEAN MILITARY CEMETERY, ARMENTIERES, NORD, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “BEYOND RECALL BUT EVER IN THOUGHT”.
