BORN HULL 1900. SON OF CHARLES BRADLEY (1864-1929) & EMILY ANNA THORNE (1864-1938), AT 5, IRENE TERRACE, BARMSTON DRAIN, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). YOUNGEST OF FIVE BROTHERS AND SISTER CLAIR. HE WORKED AS A LABOURER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 25/04/1917, AGED 17. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 7.5 INCHES TALL, 102 LBS, 32 INCH CHEST, OF ‘POOR’ PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE ON 05/04/1918. HE WAS TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/7TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY, IN THE FIELD HE WAS CAPTURED WITHIN DAYS AND DIED IN GERMAN HANDS. AGED 18. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 22/08/1919. HE IS BURIED AT MERVILLE COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “WORTHY OF EVERLASTING REMEMBRANCE FROM MOTHER & FATHER, BROTHER, SISTER & MENA”
