BORN HULL 18/06/1896. BROTHER OF GERTRUDE BRADY AT THIS ADDRESS. SON OF LATE JAMES & ADA BRADY – 2 BELGRAVE TERRACE, HESSLE ROAD. LOST AT SEA WHEN HIS SHIP STRUCK A MINE. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HDM 06/05/1918.

On May 4th, 1917, the British minesweeper LORD SALISBURY (FY1212), built in 1911 by Cochrane & Sons Shipbuilders Ltd. and owned at the time of her loss by British Royal Navy, was sunk by a mine off Salonika in the Aegean Sea. 4 crewmen lost their lives. ref. used:Tony Lofthouse, Gilbert Mayes, David Newton, Michael Thompson, Cochrane Shipbuilders Vol I : 1884 – 1914
