BORN HULL 1863. MARRIED AT HULL IN 1892. HUSBAND OF  ELIZABETH ANN BURNETT (WRIGHT) & 3 CHILDREN, THEY LIVED AT 380 , BOULEVARD, HULL. SON OF THE LATE WILLIAM GEORGE & ELIZA BURNETT. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, EDWARD BURNETT WAS AWARDED THE MILITARY MEDAL FOR BRINGING WOUNDED IN, UNDER FIRE (HDM 15/06/1918).

On 30/04/1917, the Hull steam trawler. ‘INDUSTRIA’ was captured by a U-boat and sunk by time bombs in the North Sea.
Position of loss also reported as NE of Humber, 30/04/1917
(?) Also, reported by U Boat.net as sunk 25/03/1917, stopped and sunk by opening the scuttles of Scotland (?), crew of 9 all lost as not recovered from lifeboat. (?)
