BORN NEWLAND, HULL 1894. AN ADOPTED. SINGLE MAN. HE LIVED AT 1 QUEENS COTTAGE, QUEENS ROAD, HULL WITH AUNT SARA ANN BYLES,  (1911 CENSUS) & LATER IN WITHERNSEA. HE ENLISTED AT WITHERNSEA. SERVED WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON  29/08/1915, AGED 21.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO ANOTHER AUNT,MISS GERTRUDE BYLES, AT HIGH STREET, PATRINGTON.

HE IS REMEMBERED ON THE PATRINGTON WW1 MEMORIAL .
