Campbell, Albert

Born Hull 1887. Son of Thomas Nesfield Campbell (1851-1888) and Sarah Ann  Mellows (1853-1950). His father died when he was one years old and his mother remarried.

Step son of George Porte, a builder’s Labourer, living at 5, Spencer Square, Spencer Street, Hull (1911 Census).

He worked as  a Iron Yard Labourer.

Husband of Mrs Maria Loft at 4, Johns Court, Spencer Street, Hull and 12, College Street, Beverley Road, Hull (War pension addresses). They had three daughters and a son.

Enlisted in the 13th East Yorkshire regiment (Hull Pals), on 17/11/1914. Served in Egypt and France. Discharged with sickness, on 24/6/1916. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: 96941).

He worked as a Builder’s Labourer, after the war, living at 4, Johns Court, Spencer Street, Hull (1921 census). He died at Hull in January 1924, age 36.
