James Albert Carson, RN

BORN LIVERPOOL, 1890. HUSBAND  OF JENNY AT 2 WHITINGS YARD, NAYLORS ROW, HULL. SON OF JIM.

EX EMPLOYEE OF MESSRS, MAJORS OF AIRE STREET, HULL. JOINED THE ROYAL NAY FLEET RESERVE IN 1914. TOOK PART IN THE DEFENCE OPERATIONS, WHEN THE GERMAN FLEET, SHELLED SCARBOROUGH.

HE SERVED AS STOKER, 1ST CLASS, ON HMS “TIPPERARY”. KILLED AT THE BATTLE OF JUTLAND, OFF DANISH COAST, 31/05/1916, AGED 26. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND ONE CHILD.

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL, HAMPSHIRE, UK. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 08/06/1916. *
