EMPLOYED AS A GENERAL LABOURER. HE ENLISTED HULL, ON 14/02/1916. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 34 INCH CHEST. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 05/07/1916, SERVED AS PRIVATE, 30841, 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. FOUGHT AT SERRE AND OPPY WOOD. REPORTED MISSING SINCE THE 03/05/1917. AND REPORTED AS MISSING IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 15/06/1917. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 05/11/1918, AGED 29.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, WHO MOVED TO 29 EDGECUMBE STREET, HULL
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS-EN-ARTOIS MEMORIAL.
