HIS WIFE, RUTH, LIVED AT 140 HESSLE ROAD (1918 MILITARY VOTERS ADDRESS) AND 5 CLOVELLY AVENUE, DE LA POLE AVENUE HULL (HDM 22/09/1919). HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRVATE, 23182, 14TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS LANCE CORPORAL, 50708, 9TH KINGS OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. HE MARRIED, RUTH DUGGLEBY (1895-1982), AT HESSLE, ON 29/03/1916. PROMOTED TO SERGEANT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 26/04/1918, AGED 26.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS YOUNG WIDOW, RUTH. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM. HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON ALL SAINTS CHURCH MEMORIAL, HESSLE.
