BORN HUTTON CRANSWICK, YORKS 1893. SON OF CHARLES HARRISON (1864-1918) & JANE CHADWICK (1871-1928), OF 1 FERN DALE, ST MARKS STREET & THIS CWGC ADDRESS. A FORMER PREMIER OIL MILL LABOURER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 07/07/1914. HIS ARMY RECORDS, DESCRIBE HIM AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 126 LBS WEIGHT, 36.5 INCH CHEST, BROWN EYES, BROWN HAIR, TATTOOS ON BOTH ARMS, A “RELIABLE MAN, OF GOOD CHARACTER”. HE SERVED AS PRIVATE, 3/6327, 3RD EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS. WAS POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 24/02/1915. RETURNED TO ENGLAND, AND SENT TO EGYPT. RE-POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 01/03/1916. DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMY ON 10/07/1918. HE DIED OF GAS WOUNDS, ON 26/10/1918, AGED 25, AT THE HULL VAD HOSPITAL. HE SERVED FOR OVER 4 YEARS IN THE ARMY. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOWED MOTHER, JANE HARRISON, AT THIS ADDRESS. HE LEFT TWO SISTERS, ROSE AND MABEL.HIS BROTHER CHARLES DIED IN 1919, AGED 13.
HE IS BURIED AT HULL’S HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “REMEMBRANCE TO THOSE WE LOVE SO DEAR”
