BORN GARTON, YORKSHIRE 1879. SON OF THOMAS WILLIAM CLARK AND ELIZA CLARK, OF 11 BUCKINGHAM TERRACE, ADELAIDE STREET, HULL. HE HAD ENLISTED IN THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT ON 29/03/1900, AGED 19. DESERTED THE ARMY IN MAY 1900, TAKING MILITARY CLOTHING. HE MARRIED AMELIA HILL, AT HULL ON 05/07/1908. FATHER OF FIVE CHILDREN. THEY LIVED AT 9, DEIGHTON TERRACE, PORTER STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS)

HE ENLISTED IN 1914, AGED 35. SERVED WITH THE 11TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. TRANSFERRED TO THE 7TH EYR BATTALION. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/10/1918, AGED 39.
BURIED AT POIX-DU-NORD COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, FRANCE.
