BORN HULL 20/05/1889. SON OF THOMAS COLLETT (1861-1919) & ROSA SANDERS (1863-1931), OF 126, AND 144, ELLA STREET, HULL. SECOND OF FOUR CHILDREN. SON OF A CARRIAGE SMITH. EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL. HE WAS A HULL TEACHER. LIVED AT “MARSHAM” HOUSE, EAST ELLA DRIVE, ANLABY.

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS. SERVED IN EGYPT. ARRIVED IN FRANCE ON 08/03/1916. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 14/165, 8TH BATTALION, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION 14/11/1916, AGED 27. HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL MEMORIAL AND THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING ON THE SOMME.
