BORN HULL 1900. SON OF WILLIAM COLLINGWOOD (1866-1911) & MARY KATE MOOR (1863-1960), OF 13, CRESCENT AVENUE, NEW BRIDGE ROAD (1901 CENSUS); 4, ROSEDALE VILLAS, ROSEMEAD STREET (1911 CENSUS) AND 9, ELLIS TERRACE, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 18/04/1917. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 04/04/1918. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 85173, 22ND DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY (PIONEERS). HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/05/1918, AGED 18. HE HAD SERVED FOR 1 YEAR AND 40 DAYS. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE SOISSONS MEMORIAL.

HE LEFT A YOUNGER BROTHER, KENNETH, AND FIVE SISTERS.
ELLIS TERRACE WAS DESTROYED IN A BOMBING RAID DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR AND WAS NEVER REBUILT..
