RECEIVED A BULLET WOUND IN THE RIGHT FOOT, ON 07/02/1916 AND INVALIDED TO ENGLAND. POSTED TO ALEXANDRIA, ON 28/02/1917 AND TRANSFERRED TO THE 1ST GARRISON BATTALION, ROYAL FUSILIERS. HE DIED IN HOSPITAL OF EPILEPSY, ON 02/02/1918, AGED 40. HE HAD SERVED FOR 3 YEARS AND 119 DAYS. BURIED AT ALEXANDRIA (HADRA) WAR MEMORIAL CEMETERY.
