Crummay, Stephen

Born 1872. Son of Andrew Crummy (1839-1906) and Mary Dunn (1841-1893).

Married at Hull, 1898. Husband of Ada Embley (1876-1946), at 2, Little Reed Street, Hull (war pension Address). He was a Dock Labourer for the Ellerman Wilson Line. They looked after two Neices and a young adopted son, Henry B Thompson.

Enlisted 31/12/1914. Served in the Royal Army Service Corps and as a Royal Engineer’s Pioneer. Posted to France, on 10/1/1915. Discharged with sickness, on 28/12/1917.

Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: 323681). Died 15/11/1924, aged 52.
