BORN HULL 1892. SON OF SARAH ANN DAUBNEY, OF 25 CLIFTON TERRACE, DAY STREET, HULL. HUSBAND OF ETHEL DAUBNEY, AT 13 PRINCESS MAY AVENUE, CLEVELAND STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). A HOUSE PAINTER. HE ENLISTED IN BEVERLEY. HE JOINED THE 2ND EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, AGED 17 AND WAS 22 WHEN HE WENT TO FRANCE. HE DIED OF WOUNDS AT NO: 3 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, IN SALONIKA, ON 30/05/1917, AGED 24. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ETHEL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH, IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 11TH JUNE 1917. *
HE IS BURIED IN GREECE, AT SARIGOL MILITARY CEMETERY, KRISTON. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “EVER IN THOUGHT BY WIFE AND CHILD”.
HIS BROTHER FRED DAUBNEY, ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY, ALSO SERVED.
