BORN HULL 1896. SON OF WILLIAM EDWARD DAUBNEY (1848-1896) AND SARAH ANN OWEN (1853-1914), OF 6 ALBERT TERRACE, TERRY STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND AT 3 NORTH WALLS, HIGH STREET, HULL. THE YOUNGEST OF NINE CHILDREN. HIS FATHER DIED IN 1896. HE WORKED AS A VAN BOY FOR A GROCER. HIS MOTHER DIED IN 1914.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL IN NOVEMBER 1915. POSTED TO FRANCE IN SEPTEMBER 1915. HE SERVED AS DRIVER, 35445, ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 24/12/1916, AGED 20. UNMARRIED. HE SHARED HIS WILL WITH HIS BROTHERS, WILLIAM, LAWRENCE, HERBERT AND HENRY, AND SISTERS, FLORENCE WRIGHTSON, GERTRUDE SHEARD, GERALDINE PARKER, LILLIAN LITTLE AND VIOLET DAUBNEY.
BURIED IN FRANCE. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON  15/02/1917. *

HIS BROTHER WHO WENT TO FRANCE WITH HIM WAS WOUNDED IN JULY A916 AND WAS AGIN IN HOSPITAL SUFFERING FROM FEVER.
