BORN HULL 08/05/1884. SON OF HANNAH MARIA COLLEY (1857-1924), OF 13, YORK AVENUE, HODGSON STREET, HULL (WAL PENSION ADDRESS. HE HAD A SISTER, ALICE DRAKES.

JOINED THE MERCHANT NAVY IN 1907 AND THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVED IN 1908. SERVED AS A DECKHAND ON MINESWEEPERS ‘ROMAN’. DIED OF HEART FAILURE, OFF THECOAST OF SCOTLAND, ON 30/03/1915, AGED 29. HE IS BURIED AT HEDON ROAD CEMETERY, HULL.
HIS NAME IS LISTED ON ST MARKS STREET MEMORIAL. HIS NAVAL FUNERAL WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 03/04/1915.
