BORN WILLOUGHBY, NOTTS, 1887. ENLISTED HULL, BUT RESIDENT IN LEEDS AT THE TIME. SON OF HENRY EDMUNDS. WIFE LILY (ADAMSON) HIS WIFE LILLY EDMUNDS LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS. BEFORE THE WAR THOMAS WAS A CHAUFFER.
Hull Pals Memorial Post. PRIVATE THOMAS PARKER EDMUNDS 12/516. Born in 1887 in Willoughby, Nottinghamshire Thomas was the eldest of four children to Henry and Sarah Edmunds. Thomas enlisted at Hull City Hall in September 1914 joining the 12th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment, 3rd Hull Pals. Before sailing to Egypt he married Lily Hatfield of 4 Caledonia Avenue, Brighton Street, Hull. Thomas Parker Edmunds was killed in action in the mud and mist of the Somme at Serre on 13th November 1916 and his body never recovered; he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the missing- he was 29 years old.
