BORN HULL 16/1/1895. Son of Herbert Elvin and Mary Elizabeth Beecroft, of 16, Clinton Avenue, Manvers St., Hull, England. Emigrated to Canada at the age of 17. Arrived Montreal, Quebec on 3/09/1912. Lived in Deloraine, Manitoba and worked as a farm hand. Enlisted in Canada on 19/07/1916. Killed in action on 15th January 1915, aged 22. His death was reported in the HDM 28/1/1917.
