BORN HULL 1894. SON OF WILLIAM EMERY (1847-1916) AND ANNIE ELIZABETH SHARMAN (1851-1901), OF 96 , SUBWAY STREET, HULL. HIS BROTHER, CHARLES FREDERICK EMERY, LIVED AT 4, RUSKIN STREET, HULL. HIS SISTERS ELLEN & ELSIE, LIVED AT 31, WALLIKER STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WAS A DENTAL APPRENTICE (1911 CENSUS) LIVING AT  31, WALLIKER STREET, HULL, WITH HIS MARRIED SISTER ELLEN BROWN.

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS, on 14/09/1914. SERVED WITH THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 26/08/1916, AGED 22. BURIED AT LE TOURET, MILITARY CEMETERY, RICHEBOURG, FRANCE.
