Private Charles Edward Everett (1891-1917)

Charles Edward Everett was born in Lodden, in Norfolk in 1891. Son of Elizabeth and Charles William Everett, of Topcroft, Norfolk; husband of Florence Ethel Everett, of 42, Far Grove, Norwood, Beverley.

He joined the East Yorkshire Regiment on 13 July 1913. He was based at The Rich in Withernsea. After his training he was sent across to France. He was discharged from France as medically unfit with Jaundice and Tuberculosis, aggravated by exposure. Transferred to (211010) 298th Coy. Labour Corps

He married Florence Ethel Reed on 27 May 1916 at Hollym cum Withernsea Church.

He died on 26 October 1917 at “The Convalescent Home” in Withernsea, having been admitted only 5 days before at the age of 27.
