HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 21221, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE. TRANSFERRED AS CORPORAL, 38687, 1ST NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 23/08/1918, AGED 36. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 06/09/1918. *

HIS NAME WAS LISTED ON THE WELBECK STREET MEMORIAL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 05/09/1918. HE IS BURIED IN FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “AN AFFECTIONATE SON AND BROTHER LOVED BY ALL”.
