BORN HULL 1897. ELDEST SON OF HENRY CHARLES GAMBLE (MERCHANT SEAMAN) & BEATRICE KEMP GAMBLE (1870-1958), OF 17, ALL SAINTS STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS) AND 73, DUESBURY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD THREE SISTERS, VERA, ENID AND ALMA.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 2/6TH SHERWOOD FORESTERS. KILLED IN ACTION ON 27/04/1917, AGED 19. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS PARENTS.

HIS NAMES IS LISTED ON THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL MEMORIAL. LISTED ON THE WILSON LINE CRICKET & ATHLETIC CLUB’S ROH. LISTED ON THE TRINITY HOUSE MEMORIAL, HULL.
