BORN HULL 1888. SON OF WILLIAM BROWN GASCOIGNE (1844-19130 & PHOEBE SCRIVENER (1846-1892), OF 97 ARUNDEL STREET, HULL. HE HAD AN OLDER BROTHER, JOSEPH WILLIAM GASCOIGNE. A SINGLE MAN. HE TRAVELLED WIDELY. EMIGRATED TO PORIRUA, NEW ZEALAND IN 1914. HE ENLISTED IN NEW ZEALAND. SERVED AS TROOPER, 11/52, WITH THE NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE (NZEF), WELLINGTON MOUNTED RIFLES. KILLED AT CANNAKALE, GALLIPOLI ON 20/05/1915, AGED 27. HE IS BURIED AT WALKERS RIDGE CEMETERY, ANZAC, GALLIPOLI.
UNMARRIED. HIS NEXT OF KIN WAS GIVEN AS. MRS J THOMPSON. OF 1 ALEXANDER AVENUE, BURLEIGH STREET, HULL.
