Gibbins, William

Born Goole, 1886. Son of William and Bridget Gibbins. Second of ten children. Employed like his father, as a sheet metal worker.

He enlisted in Hull. Served as Private, 10104, 1st Border regiment. Awarded Silver Wound Badge Number 8825. Died of wounds on 12/11/1923, aged 37. His army effects were left to his mother, Bridget, at 1 Carlton Avenue, Victor Street, Hull.

His brother, Richard (Dick) Gibbins, 11th Essex Regiment, was killed in action, on 01/06/1918, aged 20.
