William Francis Gray

Born 21 Feb 1879 • Beverley. Son of William Gray (1842-1900) and Naomi Morris (1845-1913). He had three sisters and two brothers.

He was an Elementary School Teacher (1st Class Cert Assistant), at St Mary’s Boys school, Beverley.

Married 30 Oct 1903 • Beverley. Husband of Hilda Duggan (1883-1968). They had three sons, William, John and Harold. 

Enlisted at Beverley. Served as a Gunner, Royal Garrison Artillery, 35th Siege Battery. Died of wounds, on 10 May 1917, aged 38.

Buried at St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France.

He left £374 in his will to his widow, Hilda.
