BORN COTTINGHAM 1892.  SON OF JOSEPH HALL AND JANE ANN HARRISON, OF 6 IRENES TERRACE, LORRAINE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A BRICKLAYER. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND NINE SISTERS. BEFORE WAR HE WORKED FOR HULL EXTRACTION OIL MILLS, STONEFERRY.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED IN THE 2/5TH SHERWOOD FORESTERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 02/12/1917, AGED 25. COMMEMORATED ON THE CAMBRAI MEMORIAL, FRANCE. UNMARRIED. HIS WAR PENSION WAS LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, MRS JANE ANN HALL.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 26TH DECEMBER 1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HE IS LISTED ON THE STONEFERRY ROLL OF HONOUR, SUTTON.
