BORN HULL 12/01/1896. SON OF WEBSTER & ESTHER ANN HARMER ABOVE & 251 ALBERT AVENUE, HULL. A FORMER NORTH EASTERN RAILWAYS RULLYMAN AND A MOTOR DRIVER. HE FOLLOWED HIS FATHER AND EMIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA IN 1913. HE LIVED AT 51 ROBINSON AVENUE, OFF WILLIAM STREET, PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

HE ENLISTED IN AUSTRALIAN IMPERIAL FORCE, IN 26TH JUNE 1916, BUT CAME HOME FOR HIS 21ST BIRTHDAY, ON 12/01/1917. HE WAS DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 7 INCHES TALL, 36 INCH CHEST, 10 STONE IN WEIGHT, FAIR COMPLEXION, BLUE EYES AND ‘SNOWY’ HAIR. RELIGION. CHURCH OF ENGLAND. SENT TO FRANCE ON 13/08/1917. REPORTED MISSING AND THEN KILLED IN ACTION ON 12TH OCTOBER, 1917, AGED 21.

HIS BODY WAS NEVER FOUND AND HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE YPRES, MENIN GATE, MEMORIAL. HE WAS UNMARRIED AND HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER IN HULL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 14/10/1918. *
