BORN HULL 1891. SOUTHCOATES. SON OF CHARLES BYRON HARPER (1863-1906) AND ANNIE BROWN (1862-1911), OF, 1, QUEEN’S PLACE, WILLIAM STREET, HULL.

A PROFESSIONAL SOLDIER SERVING AS A CORPORAL, NO:9 COMPANY, ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 12TH OCTOBER 1915. TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL FIELD ARTLLERY, TRENCH MORTAR BATTERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/06/1916, AGED 25. BURIED IN FRANCE.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, LILIAN ALMA HARPER AT 3, SOMERSET, VILLAS, ANLABY ROAD, HULL  (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SHE MOVED TO 13, HARECOURT AVENUE, TORONTO, CANADA. (CWGC ADDRESS)
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, BERNARD HARPER, 1/4TH EYR, WAS KILLED AT YPRES, ON 03/05/1915, AGED 22. HIS REMAINING BROTHER STANLEY SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EYR.

HIS SISTER ROSE, DIED AT HULL, IN 1920, AGED 20.
