Himsworth, Thomas

BORN HULL 1889. SON OF THOMAS HIMSWORTH (1856-1926) AND SUSANNAH ATKINSON (1854-1929), OF 73, GLASGOW STREET, HULL. SON OF A LABOURER. HE HAD THREE SISTERS AND A YOUNGER BROTHER, WILLIAM HENRY HIMSWORTH.

HUSBAND OF FLORENCE (1887-1953),  AT 3, ROSEMONT TERRACE, SOUTH PARADE, HULL AND 41, PULMAN STREET, HULL (WAR LEDGER ADDRESS). THEY HAD TWO SONS, ERNEST AND RICHARD. HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A BILLPOSTER (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 22856 EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 10TH KING’S SHROPSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 22/08/1918, AGED 29. BURIED IN FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, FLORENCE

HE IS COMMEMORATED AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
