BORN HULL 1883. SON OF JACOB JESNEY (1843-1913) & MARY JESNEY (1843-1922), OF 38 BRIGHT STREET, HULL (CWGC RECORDS). ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. HE WORKED AS A LABOURER, LIVING AT 38 BRIGHT STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1ST TERRITORIAL BATTALION, NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 04/08/1916, AGED 33. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOWED MOTHER, MARY AT 7 DERBY AVENUE, BRIGHT STREET, HULL.

HE IS BURIED AT CABARET-ROUGE BRITISH CEMETERY, SOUCHEZ, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE.
