BORN GOOLE 1876. WIFE FLORENCE KENNY AND DAUGHTER, AGED 18, LIVED AT 34 PORTLAND PLACE, PROSPECT STREET, HULL. DURING THE WAR, HE SERVED FOR FIVE YEARS, ON MINESWEEPERS AND SAW CONSIDERABLE ACTION, IN THE DARDENELLES CAMPAIGN. HE WAS TORPEDOED ON THREE OCCASIONS, WOUNDED TWICE AND SPENT FOUR MONTHS IN HULL’S ARGYLL STREET, NAVAL HOSPITAL. HE WAS DECKHAND ON THE HULL TRAWLER, “BARBADOS”, MINED WHILE FISHING, ON 06/11/1920, AGED 44. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 25/11/1920. *

FV Barbados (H938) was a British registered fishing vessel of 183grt built in 1907 by Earles Shipbuilders, Hull. Presumed mined on 6th November 1920. All hands lost.
