BORN HULL 10/12/1896. SON OF TOM LARKMAN (1863-1936) & MAY ANN HIGGINS (1861-1937), OF 6 GROSVENOR AVENUE, WYNDHAM STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A BOILER MAKER. ONE OF 14 CHILDREN OF WHICH ONLY SIX SURVIVED INTO ADULTHOOD. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. HE WORKED AS GROCERY RULLY BOY AT THE HULL CO-OP SOCIETY.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 29/09/1915. SERVED IN THE 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF DYSENTERY, ON 15/09/1918, AGED 21. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER THOMAS. HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS MOTHER, MARY ANN, AT 6 GROSVENOR AVENUE, WYNDHAM STREET, HULL.

BURIED AT CHAUNY COMMUNAL CEMETERY BRITISH EXTENSION, AISNE, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “REST IN PEACE”.

HIS BROTHER, JOSEPH SERVED IN THE ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 20/04/1915. HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, PRIVATE, JOHN THOMAS LARKHAM SERVED IN THE SCOTTISH RIFLES.
