BORN HULL 1888. SON OF SAMUEL & ELIZABETH LEEMING AT 47, EXCHANGE STREET, HULL AND WYKE STREET, HULL.

BEFORE JOINING THE ARMY, ARTHUR WORKED FOR MESSRS, GOOD & MENZIES, LOCKWOOD STREET, HULL.

ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS, IN SEPTEMBER 1914. SERVED WITH THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRES IN EGYPT AND FRANCE, AS A SNIPER. WOUNDED AT THE SOMME ON 1ST JULY 1916. KILLED IN ACTION ON 31/07/1917, AGED 29. COMMEMORATED AT THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.

HE LEFT A WIDOW, MARGARET ANN LEEMING AT 15 WESTMORELAND STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 27/02/1917. *

HIS THREE OTHER BROTHERS ALSO SERVED. PRIVATE, HARRY LEEMING (RAMC); LANCE CORPORAL, WILLIAM LEEMING, WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT AND JOHN LEEMING , ARMY SERVICE TRANSPORTS, ALL OF WHICH HAD STRIPES FOR LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT.
