SS Port Hardy, built by Workman, Clark & Co. Ltd., Belfast in 1907 and owned at the time of her loss by Commonwealth & Dominion Line, Ltd., London, was a British steamer of 6533 tons. On July 6th, 1918, Port Hardy, on a voyage from Buenos Aires to Genoa with a cargo of frozen meat, wheat & oats, was sunk by the German submarine U-91 (Alfred von Glasenapp), 78 miles WxN of Cape Spartel. 7 persons were lost.
