BORN BURSTWICK 1893. SON OF HENRY LEVITT (1843-1929) & BETSY GEDNEY (1849-1932) , BURSTWICK AT 59 LEE STREET, HULL. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND NINE SISTERS, SOME OF WHICH DIED IN INFANCY. A FARM FODDERER, AT OLD LITTLE HAMPTON FARM, THORNGUMBALD (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE 693, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND YORK & LANCS REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 15/01/1918, AGED 24. HIS ARMY EFFECTS AND WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS MOTHER, BETSEY.

HIS BROTHER, GUNNER, WILLIAM LEVITT, 376661, TYNEMOUTH ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 21/03/1918, AGED 27.
THE BROTHERS WERE PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON THE 05/12/1914. ANOTHER BROTHER, HAROLD HEATON LEVITT, HAD BEEN KILLED AT THE STORRY SMITHSON COMPANY, IN OCTOBER 1913, AGED 16.
