BORN HULL 15/06/1890. SON OF WILLIAM ERNEST LOWERY (1864-1950) & MARY MAXWELL (1868-1940). HIS FATHER WAS A SHIP BROKER. HE HAD ONE BROTHER AND ONE SISTER.

HE LIVED AT STONEFERRY, HULL (1891 CENSUS) AND 93 ALLIANCE, HULL (1901 CENSUS) AND 40 ELM AVENUE, GARDEN VILLAGE, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL WHEN WAR BEGAN. SERVED IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL FLYING CORPS.  HE TRAINED TO FLY BI-PLANES, AT THE MILITARY SCHOOL, BIRMINGHAM, ON THE 13/12/1915.

HE MARRIED, ETHEL CONSTANCE LOWERY (1893-1967), AT MARYLEBONE, LONDON, ON 28/08/1915. THEY LIVED AT THE “MARSH LANDS”, PARK AVENUE, GRIMSBY.

HE WAS POSTED TO FRANCE. FLYING WITH THE 70TH SQUADRON, RFC, AT ARRAS. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 24/03/1917, AGED 27. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.

HE LEFT £175 IN HIS WILL TO HIS WIDOW, ETHEL CONSTANCE YOUNG (1893-1967), WHO MOVED TO THE “BEECHWOOD” COTTINGHAM. (PROBATE ADDRESS).
