Mallory, John Charles

BORN HULL 1895. SON OF JOHN CHARLES & LILLIAN MALLORY, OF THE VICARAGE, ALBERT AVENUE, HULL & 30 ARLINGTON STREET, HULL. HIS FATHER WAS THE FOUNDER OF MALLORYS (OIL MERCHANTS) LIMITED. HE WAS EDUCATED AT BRIDLINGTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL & WAS ARTICLED AT A LONDON FIRM OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS.

HE SERVED AS A SECOND LIEUTENANT IN THE 26TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. LEFT ENGLAND ON 22ND FEBRUARY 1917 AND WAS KILLED SIX WEEKS LATER, ON EASTER MONDAY 9TH APRIL 1917. HIS PHOTOGRAPH APPEARS IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 25/04/1917. HE WAS AGED 23.

HE LEFT £1,047 IN HIS WILL TO HIS ELDER SISTER LEONORA (NORA) MARY MALLORY AND THE REVEREND, THOMAS FREDERICK JONES.
